Sometimes in life we can encounter obstacles that distort our perspective and hinder our ability to see ourselves accurately. There is no “one size fits all” when it comes to therapy. Every client’s response and needs will be different, and I believe in personalized care for all my clients. I provide counseling to individuals and couples who are experiencing both common and uncommon stressors and issues in life. Whether you’ve been derailed by traumatic life events, depression and anxiety, PTSD, marital or sexual issues, affair recovery or other life altering transitions, my focus is to help you move beyond what’s been holding you back and find a more confident and authentic self. I value getting my clients "unstuck" out of their cycle of shame and sexual difficulties. This journey can be daunting, but you are not alone. Together, we will work through thoughts, behaviors, challenging emotions, relational patterns, resources, skills, and strengths to help you control the narrative of your life.  As a recovering perfectionist I can understand how expectations and “shoulds” can cause our lives to feel overwhelming.  I work to help clients get off the hamster wheel of unnecessary obligations, and to focus more on valuable relationships, living a present life with gratitude, and engaging in peaceful, fun, and self-loving activities. After years of working with sexual issues, trauma, depression, and PTSD, I offer a specialized approach to healing in these areas and others, incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy, self-compassion, mindfulness, psychoeducation, acceptance and commitment therapy, internal family systems, and the Gottman and Imago methods for couples.

Additionally, I have worked with many veteran clients and have a passion for helping our citizens who have given so much to the community. I have also have over 20 years of experience conducting therapy groups, a helpful support for those experiencing a specific issue or life event.  I am a licensed counselor who also holds a master’s degree in Anthropology. This helps me to see individual issues in terms of their environment, geographical location, familial background and culture, and spiritual influences. Every aspect of your life has an impact on the person you are today, and I offer holistic counseling where we explore all the complexities of the issue.  I have completed Level 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and am completing my Sex Therapy Certification with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT), as well as a Sex and Couples Therapist Certification in 2024 from the Integrated Sex Therapy Institute.
